Our Facilities

The County of Wiltshire has much for visitors of all ages and interests. Walking and other outdoor activities are obviously one of its strongest assets. Set within the region Wessex, an area best known for the inspiration it gave to the writer Thomas Hardy, the picturesque chalk downlands patterned with old drovers paths and alive with wildlife make Wiltshire a beautiful walking region.

Many of these walks begin a from around Sturgess Barns, or just a short car journey away. Most of them can be tailored to pass through one or two of the many sleepy country villages that dot the Wiltshire hills, making the ideal excuse to make a day of it and stop for a drink or a bite to eat in the local pub!
